Two schoolmates, Harden Harrison drums and bass , formed the band when they met guitar. The tour was in support of , so the concert lengths were short 45 minutes and very few bootlegs have survived. The band's sound drew from early punk, rock n' roll and rockabilly, as well as dark English pop. Taylor's next venture, , came in June 1984. This fusion of jazz technique and wonderful riffs but with this rolling ferocious attack on the whole kit, it had lots of jazz influences I think. It was in fact mostly written by Edney, who contributed three of his own tracks and contributed to four more. Harden Harrison also plays drums with the bands Speedealer and Mitra.

The two back-to-back shows were advertised as Tiger Army's last shows of 2013. At the age of 15, Taylor became a member of the Reaction, a semi-professional rock band formed mainly of boys from Truro School. The band was signed by in 1987. Taylor himself would take on the responsibility for lead vocals and rhythm guitar. On its debut release, The Cross incorporated dance influences which they dropped on their remaining two albums. After years of battling with cancer, Corbitt died on January 25, 2019 at the age of 56, making him the second member of Rigor Mortis following Scaccia to die.

Shove It, was released in 1988. He was voted by radio listeners as the eighth-greatest drummer in classic rock music history in a poll conducted by in 2005. Taylor has also expressed great admiration for of. In 2005, the original lineup reunited and performed at Ozzfest 2008 in Texas. Bruce Corbitt also sang for the band Warbeast Formerly Texas Metal Alliance. Rigor Mortis is featured on the shirt of the creature on the album from 2003.

They were also one of the only major thrash bands from Texas and virtually created the underground metal scene there. The following month, the band played two sold-out shows at the in Los Angeles for Octoberflame X; supporting acts included formerly of the , the Delta Bombers, , and 8 Kalacas.
